Situated on the west coast of the island, Cala'n Forcat has in recent years begun to expand and merge together with neighbouring resorts of Los Delfines and Cala'n Blanes making the largest tourist area on the island. Cala'n Forcat is popular with British holidaymakers and is ideally suited to younger couples and families seeking a fun yet relaxing holiday.
The resort offers a wide range of amenities with plenty of restaurants, bars and shops selling everything from everyday essentials to gifts and souvenirs. Children are kept well amused in the resort with play areas, trampolines, mini golf as well as a water park.
Cala'n Forcat has several small sandy coves which are safe for swimming and playing, however they do tend to get quite crowded in the summer months, for those who prefer a longer stretch of beach and a bit more space, Cala Blanca is only 9 km away and offers good facilities including water sports.

This isn't the place to visit if you've dreams of expansive sandy beaches...But that's not a reason to despair. Cala en Forcat comes as something of a relief after you've worked your way through the back-to-back tourist offerings available in Cala en Blanes and Los Delfines. Yes, this is still very much a touristy resort, but the atmosphere becomes a little calmer once the sea, rather than endless apartment blocks, shops and bars, fills the horizon.
This isn't the place to visit if you've dreams of expansive sandy beaches. Cala en Forcat is so petite that once you've got a pair of parasols set up, there's not going to be a scrap of sunbathing space for anyone else. But that's not a reason to despair. An intricate network of bridges, steps and platforms hug the low cliff faces in the bay, complete with steps that lead down to the glass-like waters, meaning there are plenty of (admittedly rocky) spaces to discover.
Cala en Forcat's main hotel is much admired by travellers heading to Mallorca by boat, the ferry sails past the hotel's terraced gardens and sea water swimming pool and looks of envy are guaranteed from the railings of the boat. Next to the hotel, there are modern tennis and padel tennis courts that overlook the sea, and the flat roads around the resort make for good cycling territory. Café de Ponent nearby is a great spot, ideal for watching the sunset over the Med.
Just to the north of Cala en Forcat, the resort of Calaspiques comes a poor second in terms of charm - the small beach here was once a quarry until the local authorities decided to fill the crater with sand instead. Calaspiques is the starting point for an easy stroll over the cliffs to Pont d'en Gil, a natural bridge, and if you're here in June, you'll probably meet locals gathering wild capers that spring up between cracks in the rocks.
